Genesis 49:27

Benjamin is a ravenous wolf;

In the morning he shall devour the prey,

And at night he shall divide the spoil.

The tribe of Benjamin in ancient Israel carries a spirit for warring, symbolised by this ravenous animal which the Bible describes its voracious appetite as one that devours its prey in the day and divides the spoil in the night.

Is our appetite for the Word of God like that? Do we truly believe our LORD’s words that “man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God?” Perhaps the reason we are beaten down in life is not because we are not strong enough but because we are not feeding on the Word of God enough.

May this art inspire you to value and devour God’s Word like sustenance, knowing that you cannot fight without eating. And when you have fed yourself, howl to your friends and share your spoils of revelations with your tribe!
