Inspiration of Art Piece
Ephesians 6:11-13
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
The history of armor dates back to more than 3,400 years when earliest bronze metal armor sets and gears were created in Ancient Greece. Men has consistently innovated the armor to protect himself from bodily harm from wars. What is fascinating to me is the amount of effort we often take to protect ourselves from bodily harm and yet forget the pain and harm that can be done to our minds, emotions and inner man. And truly as I created this piece of art painstakingly for 4 months, my mind is constantly on the truth that there is an armor that is naked to the invisible eye yet keeps and protects us like no other armor can. May this artwork continue to remind all of us to protect what truly matters - our inner man and to allow the Armor of God to do it for us.
