Mark 1:10-11

And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove. Then a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

From above, our Abba God rends the heavens and commanded the Holy Spirit to descend upon Yeshua at the inauguration of His ministry.  But before our ministry begins, we first hear the words of who we are: that we are His beloved.  It is amazing that the word “parting” in this scripture is the same Greek word used in Matthew 27:51 translated into “torn” in English. .

Then behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked and the rocks split.

The thought that Abba God could not wait to send His spirit to Yeshua to save and to bless us is simply mindblowing.  He did the same in Acts 2 and continues on even today, sending to fill us with His Spirit when we accept Him as our God and when we allow Him to call us “His Beloved”.
