28Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.29Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.30For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
The imagery of the ox is of one of patience, endurance and labour in service to others. History shows that oxen will literally work themselves to death in service. What a beautiful picture of our LORD Yeshua. He devoted Himself to death in fulfilling God’s will for Him to be the sacrifice for our sins and redemption from the curses of this world. Because of His tenacity to liberate us, He took our heavy burdens that today we may find rest for our souls in Him and His unwavering love for us.
